How should a varsity jacket fit?
A classic letterman jacket sits at the waist, with the knit band resting on or just below the belt. Shoulder seams line up with your shoulders, cuffs stop at the wrist, and you can close the snaps over a hoodie without strain.
Fit styles
- Classic: order your usual size; the hem lands at your waist
- Fitted: taken in at the sides for a slimmer line
- Cropped: stops short of the waistband; see cropped varsity jackets
- Oversized: roomy, with the shoulder seam falling past your shoulder; see hooded and oversized jackets
Measuring
- Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms, tape level
- Body length: high point of the shoulder to the waistband
- Sleeve: with your arm slightly bent, from the bump at the base of your neck down to your wrist bone
